AHF members joined together for a Unity Rally for each shift to show their solidarity and support for a new better contract. Negotiations have been ongoing with a company that bought the plant sometime last year. They stand together stong and we stand with them.

In an encouraging sign of unity within the West Virginia labor movement, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 175 made a unanimous decision this past Saturday to affiliate with the West Virginia AFL-CIO.
West Virginia unions celebrate legal victory for working families
CHARLESTON -- West Virginia working families won a major victory yesterday, when Kanawha Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey struck down the so-called “Right to Work” law aimed at attacking unions.
“Judge Bailey was right-on with her ruling,” West Virginia AFL-CIO President Josh Sword said.
We’ve just passed the halfway point of the 2019 legislative session, and we still can’t believe that the vast majority of energy at the Capitol is being spent on legislation that is nothing more than an blatant attempt by Senate President Mitch Carmichael and his Republican leadership team to get back at educators for last year’s successful strike.
